Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Strange Tech (“we”, “us”), a product, design and engineering studio operating from London and Dubai, collects and uses your personal data when you visit strange.tech or one of our landing pages, contact us, or download a resource. Information we collect

• Enquiries. When you send an enquiry we collect your name, email, company, what you need help with, where you’re based, how you heard about us, your budget range and funding status, a deck or pitch link if you add one, and your message. We also record the page you sent it from and, if you allowed analytics, how you first found us (see campaign data below).
• Resources and mentorship. Your email address when you ask for a resource such as our playbook, and your name, email, organisation and message when you apply for mentorship.
• Usage and device data. Pages viewed, referring links, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you use the site (for example scroll depth and clicks). Google Analytics and LinkedIn collect this only if you allow them. Vercel counts page views without cookies.
• Campaign data. If you allow analytics, we store in your browser the marketing tags (UTM parameters) on the link you arrived through, the site that sent you and the first page you landed on. It stays for 30 days and is sent to us only as part of an enquiry or sign-up. If you don’t allow analytics, nothing is stored.

How we use your information

• To respond to your enquiry and deliver resources you request.
• To send you relevant follow-up about our services, where you have consented.
• To measure and improve our website and advertising, where you have consented.
• To keep the site secure and operating correctly.

Legal bases (UK/EU GDPR)

We rely on your consent for analytics and advertising cookies and for marketing communications; on our legitimate interests in running and improving our business for responding to enquiries, cookieless page counts and keeping the site secure; and on taking steps at your request before entering an agreement when you ask us to scope work. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Analytics, advertising & third parties

We use trusted third-party services that process data on our behalf. These may process data outside the UK/EU (including the United States) under appropriate safeguards:

• Formspree: receives enquiry and mentorship forms and emails them to us. It acts as our processor.
• Loops: email delivery and marketing. Enquiries and resource sign-ups are added to our Loops contact list.
• Google (Google Analytics, Google tag, Google Ads): site analytics and advertising measurement, with your consent.
• LinkedIn (Insight Tag): advertising measurement, with your consent. It isn’t loaded at all unless you allow advertising cookies.
• Vercel: website hosting and cookieless page counts.

We use Google Consent Mode. Until you accept analytics or advertising cookies, Google’s tag sets no cookies and sends Google only basic signals without identifiers, such as that a page was viewed. You can also control Google advertising via your Google Ad Settings and browser settings.

Data retention

We keep enquiry and marketing data only as long as necessary for the purposes above, and no longer than required by law. Your cookie choice is kept in your browser for 12 months and campaign data for 30 days. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

Your rights

Under UK/EU data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our use of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email hello@strange.tech. If you are in the UK and unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
